Unless in general practice, law is a highly specialist area and employers are employing someone that can meet their practice and client requirements. To ensure you are a perfect match:

Profile: Make sure your profile, aligns with the requirements of the specific job. If you are coming from a general practice and applying for a more specialist position, for example in Intellectual Property, it is no good highlighting your skills in conveyancing; you need to highlight your skills in trademarks, patents, IP disputes & enforcement, copyright through to brand enforcement.

What is a Certified Master Resume Writer?

A Certified Master Resume Writer is the oldest master-level resume credential worldwide and the only one endorsed by an active professional association, Career Directors International (CDI).

Currently there are only 42 credentialed Master Resume Writers worldwide. I’m one of them.

Certified Master Resume Writers are considered by many to be the ‘best of the best’ in the resume-writing industry. To be part of a select group of elite resume writers, not only do you need a pre-existing resume certification, (such as CARW), but you need to submit a portfolio. In the PwC The Future of Work A Journey to 2022, 46% of HR professionals expect at least 20% of their workforce to be made up of contractors or temporary workers and 2 out of 5 people around the world believe that traditional employment won’t be around in the future. Instead, people will have their own ‘brands’ and sell their skills to those who need them.

Welcome to a small glimpse of the potential future of work, which will be based on personal brands and HR professionals building their talent strategies around the rise of the individual, not long-term employees.

Yet in spite of the rising awareness of the importance of the personal brand for the skilled workforce, those same highly educated people are not taking the time to establish an online image or using social media correctly.
